Students learn the basics of how to create innovative products and services for others while being introduced to the basics of the design process. Students learn fabrication as a necessary tool to communicate their ideas and explore different types: prototyping, 3D printing, and laser cutting.

What To Expect
Introduction to 3D Modeling and Printing
Students will acquire the basics of Fusion 360 and 3D printing, transforming their digital creations into tangible, prototypes.
Introduction to Cardboard Prototyping/ Woodworking
Students will create large-scale prototypes using industrial and woodworking tools to develop products for others to use.
Client-Based Projects
In this course, students engage in an authentic experience akin to working at design consultancy. They collaborate with real-world clients and tackle genuine challenges, focusing identifying customer needs and creating value in people's lives.
Projects Made for Others In Mind
Through the Human-Centered Design process, popularized by design consultants IDEO, students will acquire skills in interviewing, brainstorming, collaborating, and developing products for others.
