Welcome to the
Global Entrepreneurship Challenge
2025
Scarsdale High School supports the Sustainable Development Goals
Think Global, Act Local
The Global Entrepreneurship Challenge allows high school students worldwide to create real social entrepreneurship ventures based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Teams will collaborate across cultures, inspiring a global community to implement a product or service on the world's most pressing issues in their local communities.
What is the GEC?
We are challenging high school students around the world to:
Identify problems in their local community that address the UN’s SDG 12
Create an innovative, actionable solution to those problems
Implement and measure the impact of the solution
This Year's Challenge will focus on:
SDG 12
Responsible Consumption and Production.
What is SDG 12 all about?
Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production aims to ensure sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources while reducing environmental impact. The goal focuses on creating economic growth without causing environmental degradation and promoting sustainable production patterns that reduce waste, pollution, and resource consumption.

This includes:
Efficient Resource Use
Encouraging businesses and industries to adopt sustainable practices, using resources like water, energy, and raw materials more efficiently.
Corporate Responsibility
Promoting sustainable practices across industries ensures companies minimize their negative environmental impact.
Waste Reduction
Minimizing waste generation through practices like recycling, reusing, and reducing materials in production processes.
Sustainable Lifestyles
Encouraging consumers to adopt more sustainable behaviors, such as choosing products with minimal environmental impact.
We will collaborate across the world to help create lasting change.
Participants will find local opportunities to make an impact, ideate, and implement a solution to make a lasting change in their community!
Participating teams will participate in three virtual sessions, during which they will collaborate with other high school teams worldwide and gain cultural perspective and inspiration for their social ventures.
Two teams from every participating school will present their final solutions virtually or in person to a panel of experts in Scarsdale, New York!*
