Project Problem

1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism, and roughly 35% of those are nonverbal. These children often struggle to express basic needs like thirst, discomfort, or the need for help. Traditional assistive tools are either too expensive, too complex, or too limiting—leaving many families and schools without practical solutions.

Project Solution Description

EzSpeak is a lightweight, durable communication device with four customizable buttons that play recorded phrases when pressed. Designed with affordability, simplicity, and adaptability in mind, EzSpeak allows children to express needs through personalized voice messages. Its acrylic and wood construction keeps costs low while offering a tactile, kid-friendly design that grows with the user.
